How do I decide if I need a medium weight or heavy weight blanket?

The main difference is the weight of the woven top blanket. With the padding we use inside these pads, the thickness of the top blanket isn’t as vital as a standard pad. Both weights will work for pretty much any work. However, if you are doing heavy work like ranch work or roping, or ranch versatility, you may want to choose a heavy top blanket to give that little bit extra protection. If you need extra padding for hollow shoulders/withers or sway back for example, or a shimmable pad option so you can change padding as needed, please contact us for your special order needs.
